Ah, those hypertrophied parental instincts..

'Tis rather, I'll take it anytime over a crazy mother. Much less detrimental to one's health, as long as one keeps one's distance.
'Tis rather. At the core of the explosion it's as hot as the centre of the sun.
The truly amazing thing about these weapons is the tiny amount of mass that's actually converted to energy. It turns out that the weapons are incredibly inefficient - the explosion caused by the material reaching critical mass, actually blows the vast majority of the mass apart before it's converted to energy. So this explosion is actually only the result of something like a grapefruit size ball of plutonium being converted if I remember correctly....
Otherwise I'm talking rubbish.
Yup, just checked, I actually over estimated. It's more like 2 golf balls worth :S
I would care to venture to dare to chance to contest that that's a darn accurate estimation you've unleashed upon the world there, angrymonkey.
It's fag packet stuff but according to good sources on the internet, only 2.1KG of mass was converted to energy during the tsar bomba event. To put that in perspective only 700mg, was the Hiroshima event. 700 milli grammes! Bear that in mind when you eat a KFC.
