Takebacks

I do not give or ask for take backs! ever. The idea of such a thing during a rated game or any other game for that matter is just absurd. I don't think it is unsportsmanlike to refuse to allow take backs. and those that do cheapen the game. You live with your mistakes no matter what the reason for the cause.

There are people who will accept take back and people who won't

Some won't accept take back because they will lose advantage and similar...(or some other reason)
And some will accept take back because they play for fun,or it's more challenging or because it won't change a situation,etc..

There's nothing to talk about this topic.You have option to ask for a take back,but everything depends on the player that you've asked :)

I think the main purpose of the takeback is to alleviate mouse slips.

If I would have to take a move back for every anti-takeback thread on this site, I would not have played any games.

Mouse slips are a part of the game. they happen to all of us You live with the consequences of the slip. Just like touch move If you touch a piece when it's your turn to move you must move that piece if it is possible to do so. Unless you announce that you are going to arrange your pieces. touch it move it. If you move a piece and it is a bad move but a legal move you live with the consequences of that mistake.

There are several reasons why someone would allow or request a takeback.
