Other-The-Board Tournaments

Hi,

im not good at chess but really would like to play in an over the board tournament.
Is this in some way disrespectful or inappropriate to do so, if I know I would loose every single game?
Or is there any chance to maybe play against other not so high rated people?
What do you think about that?
Should I maybe wait a few years until I become better online?

Also, is there some reference for all existing tournaments? I'm from Germany (NRW) but only can
find posts about "local tournaments" on the web... What are some good resources about that?

Thank you!

edit: I dont know what I tried to google before, but I guess this is a good resource for fide tournaments -
am I right? ^^
ratings.fide.com/tournament_list.phtml?country=GER
Although, tournaments listed there appear to only be for "professional" or club players...
@SkySoldier It's peffectly fine to play in tournaments- you will learn lots from stronger players. Just enjoy, and you can join a chess club in your area with which you can find tournaments
All the best
@SkySoldier
Probably the best thing to do is searching for a chess club in your region and look if they offer tournaments where non club members can take part. Usually they announce those on their websites.

This website might be a good starting point for you:
schach.in/deutschland

I can tell you though that currently there is no club life whatsoever due to the Corona situation. No tournaments, nothing. We all have to wait until the whole thing is over.
How would it possibly be disrespectful to play OTB? (And yes, I've always wanted to play Other-Than-Board!)
Given your rapid and classical ratings, there is no way you would lose every single game. There's nothing wrong with being a beginner either— everyone has to start from somewhere.
Well, maybe "disrespectful" in the sense of wasting peoples time being no real competitor? I do'nt know, maybe I just think about it too complicated, and should just try it out.
I will, after "corona" :)
weekend tournaments are divided into classse. Finland being small country typically two classes. German has biggr population and bigger cities so I wouls assume more classes. So you would be playing hopufully people within range you can win. Your Elo rating woudlbe somhere aroun 1300 or so dont expect to win the class you are playing .

and everyone is weak at som point so there nothing wrong attending tournament regardless of you skill level

Obviously next OTB tournament probbaly happend somewhere round summer
