Haven't read check and checkmate .
The Postman is another good one.
There is a lot of good video games based on post apocylptic survival.
Such as fallout, last of us, and days gone.

@b4c4d2 The Stand was good but man it was long 1153 pages. They made it into a miniseries. I've got it on VHS (of all things,lol) and it's 3 tapes over 6 hours in all ,366 min.
