New Ranking Feature

Hi So I noticed on the profile of each player a rank can now be found. Here it is on my profile for example http://en.lichess.org/@/LordButternoodles What does this rank mean exactly and what is the ranking out of? I assume all of the players on lichess but not sure. And if so, what does all of lichess equate to numerically in terms of the amount of players who play here? Thanks.

I believe they should do a percentage ranking instead of a number. That way you know where you stand in regards to the lichess community

I disagree. The numbers change all the time, and lichess is constantly growing. Besides, percentiles are much less accurate than hard numbers.

Either way, this doesn't say much about how strong you are, your rating does. I was actually a bit concern that people misinterpret this. It's your rating that matters, simple ranking isn't a good system for chess.

I'd like to see full list of players.
Just knowing your position is good, but it will be more useful if there was a page with full list of players. So you could see best players online in each category to send challenge, or examine best games.
