Lichess Tournament Federation (LTF)

There are two types of tournaments - championships and regular. Championships are very competitive - they determine the champion of each time section and the overall champion. There are 4 qualifier tournaments, and the top three placers of each progress to the candidates tournament. The winner and runner-up progress to the finals. The qualifier is a swiss, and the candidates & finals are round-robin.

Score 1st in a normal tournament of become one of the finalists of a championship for LCF master. Win a championship for LCF champion until someone else attains the title in another tournament. LCF champions who don't retain their title become LCF masters.

There are 6 speed categories - classical, standard, rapid, blitz, speed blitz and bullet, although the former 3 time controls are emphasised.

Classical is usually 90/30
Standard is usually 30/30
Rapid is usually 15/10
Blitz is usually 10/0
Speed Blitz is usually 5/0
Bullet is usually 1/0
